Walt Disney World introduced the FastPass twenty years ago and since then we’ve been diligent in experiencing the parks and minimizing our wait. About two years ago they piloted mobile ordering in a few quick service locations but there were limitations on using dining credits and making modifications (specifically for allergies).

Fast forward to 2019 and Mobile Ordering is available at dozens of locations and features full customization of your food items. Still, we had never used this feature on the My Disney Experience app until this last trip as we could get to an ordering station quicker than we could enter our orders into the app.

This changed, however, when I decided to try my first Dole Whip. We headed to Aloha Isle and the line was insane. It twisted, turned and nearly reached into Frontierland! I decided this was the time to try out the app.

It took less than three minutes to place the order. I immediately then said that I was here so “Prepare My Order.” Very soon thereafter, I had my Dole Whip. I doubt that the “standby” line had moved five people through.

So, mobile ordering is the new FastPass. If you actively look for strategies to avoid lines at Disney World, there is now another tool at your disposal. Remember, we at Mousekepros try to minimize the wait and maximize the magic.
